It was a race fit for a Queen in Louisville on Saturday — Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip were on hand for the 133rd running of the Kentucky Derby. And the two major papers of record in the Bluegrass State, the Louisville Courier-Journal and Lexington Herald-Leader, didn’t disappoint with their coverage of the race.
The Region 4 Blog has extended coverage and pages from both papers posted this morning, including pages from each paper’s preview section and Sunday’s live coverage. Special thanks to Region 4 members Patty Pitts, presentation editor at the Courier-Journal, and Jeff Bowen, a designer at the Herald-Leader, for sending pages along to share with all of us.
So if the two live covers above don’t satiate you, head over to Region 4 and see some more great work from Louisville and Lexington for the biggest event of Kentucky’s year, every year.
